First album after signing to Alfa Matrix, Chemnitz-based artist Pedro Engel strikes back with a third album, entitled “The Enemy”.

Acylum is new to me, I haven’t heard anything from them before this album so I didn’t have anything to pin-point them to before analysing the album. “The Enemy” starts okey, with the title track ‘The Enemy’ and is followed by a couple tracks with a lot of “noisisch” sound, which makes me refer to Feindflug, which I’m not a big fan of. At this point of my listening, I did actually thought of just stop listening. But instead, I let the album continue to run and to my surprise, at the 5th track ‘Crazy’, it started to sound a lot better for my ears. This song reminds me alot with the album “Divine Infekt” by Psyclon Nine, released back in 2003. A great album, before they – what I personally think – destroyed their sound completely. However, ‘Crazy’ is followed by a couple more great tracks, including ‘Lightning Child’ and ‘ES’. These three tracks has a complete different structure, with a more distinctive melodic touch to it, but yet with aggressive beats. The rest of the tracks is just too noisy for me.

The music from Acylum is hammering powerful industrial beats and hard vocals mixed with dark noise but also some orchestral arrangements. I recommend the tracks mentioned above.
