Auxiliary Control is a new project from US and “Memories Of You” is the debut album. The music pretty much goes in the same vein as Level 2.0 and the fact that member Mike Hoffman is a part of Auxiliary Control is an explanation.

With Auxiliary Control Mike have teamed up with vocalist David Swaine and together they create dark melodic dance music into something they call Futurewave with influences of Synthpop and EBM. The music is very catchy with great hooks and hitting melodies. I really like the voice of David even if it could be improved.

It’s hard not to compare with Level 2.0 and looking at the porduction work and structuring I can’t just leave it be. It could definately be better as I don’t see it get up to the same standard as with Level 2.0 when looking at their latest album “Battle Sight Zero”. However, the emotional songs goes in the same vein and is really touching. “Forever Lost” deliver an amazing tension to its gloomy approach.

Powerful tracks like “Rage” or “Liquid State” deliver some pulsating club approach with catchy tunes of electronics with an edge as well as intriguish tracks like “Symbiotic” and “Lust”. The latter proving to be dark with pounding beats and actually a bit better quality in production then the other, being the highlight track. There is a feeling of passion and consistency during my journey and definately a band to look out for.
