C-Drone Defect, who have been existing for almost ten years, released the debut release in 2001 with the MCD “The Few”. 2009 sees the return of this project with “Dystopia” after more then five years of silence since the latest album “Nemesis”. “Dystopia” features 10 new tracks and the first 1000 copies comes with an exclusive bonus CD. Some time back, the free EP “Letters Of Dystopia” was released containing 2 tracks taken from “Dystopia” and several remixes as an appetizer. Notable is that all tracks is named with Latin titles, but the lyrics are in English.

When the first track “Rebellis” starts to spin, you are met with atmospheric soundscapes, distorted vocals formed into a powerful and dark introduction. The following “Morituri Te Salutant” continues with the great atmosphere but is also driven by its hypnotic and distinct beat structure with great electronic landscapes. Don’t miss out “Post Tenebras Lux”. The song starts with over a two-minute long beautiful intro with landscapes of ambient sounds, an acoustic guitarr and soft electronic synths in the background which creates a fresh and harmonic feeling before the beats starts pounding together with the dark vocals and dramatic medieval-like choirs.

The atmospheric landscapes is following through the entire album, but that is not all “Dystopia” has to offer. The tempo is constantly shifting with everything from slow BPM hymns to mid-tempo apocalyptic anthems to the more fast-paced club-orientated tracks. Be sure not to miss out the bonus cd with alot of interesting remixes.
