CeDigest - Walking In The Flesh

6/10

Artist: CeDigest
Title: Walking In The Flesh
Format: CD
Label: Noitekk
Genre: Harsh Electro, Industrial
Release date: February 26, 2010

“Walking In The Flesh” is the debut album of one of the latest signing on NoiTekk, the sub-label of Black Rain. CeDigest was formed in 2004 and consists of the six (!) bandmembers Avi, Seth, Aether, Proto, Benedict and JayT. “Walking In The Flesh” is as mentioned their debut and holds 13 tracks of dark electro, terror EBM and a some industrial metal.

The album is brutal and harsh, the music is well produced but the vocals have too much distortion which makes it pretty difficult to hear anything of what they sing. CeDigest reminds me alot of early Psyclon Nine and their debut back in 2003 with infectious soundscapes, heavy beats and fast-paced electronics. Though I think the album has a very monotonous feeling in most of the tracks with exceptions from “Evil Returns” and “The Faithless Congregation” which I enjoyed the most.

My expectations was high before listening to the album so I’m little disappointed in the result. But it will most likely fit the taste of fans who like Terror EBM and harsh industrial electronic like early Psyclon Nine or even Amduscia.
