Color Theory is the electronic pop project of Brian Hazard started out in the mid-90′s. He has released eight albums up to date and “The Sound” is the latest one featuring 9 brand new tracks and a cover of the A-Ha classic “Living a Boy’s Adventure Tale”.

Stated by himself, the music from Color Theory is electronic indie piano pop and I couldn’t agree more. Even though the music is very simple it has a great touch to it. It’s melancholic, emotional and at the same time very catchy. Cross A-ha with early Depeche Mode and blend in some great piano tunes from time to time and you have Color Theory.

Brian has a great voice and with a pretty good production “The Sound” is a great choice if you’re into synthpop or even any electronic music. Many tracks are pretty mellow and really soft to just sit down and delve into your own little world. Brian’s own interpretation of the good old A-ha classic “Living a Boy’s Adventure Tale” is one hell of version and probably the most poppy one on the album, but other gems like “Extroverts At Play” and “A Safe Distance” should not be missed.
