2010 sees the return of one of Canadians finest. Decoded Feedback is back with their new effort “Aftermath”, which is their eigth studio album to date. The band has found a new home in Dependent Records in Europe but still remains on Metropolis for US territories. “Aftermath” is unleashed with a total of 10 tracks, but is also available in a deluxe digital edition with three additional tracks.

When I hear Decoded Feedback, I always recall to the track “Phoenix”, which was the first track I heard from them. That was like 8 years ago. Alot of things have happened since then but the harsh sound of Decoded Feedback is still there. “Aftermath” strikes with a brutal force within the electronic scene, and the album opener is a great example of that. “Silent Killer” is – one of many – a powerful track with great industrial elements together with a heavy bassline and dark atmosphere. The recognizable soundscapes in “Eternity Falls” is just amazing. “Affliction” though, shows a new and very interesting path from the band with a way more ‘poppier’ sound structure, where all the heavy and rough arrangements are very distant. The only thing that remains is the dark voice of Marco. The album is destined for the darker clubs. Another amazing track is “Shelter Me”. The vocal structure is really cool and with its atmospheric soundscapes and great melodic touch it is easily one of the best tracks on the album.

Marco and Yone combines harmonic sequences and heavy basslines very good to create that pounding and very energetic sound. “Aftermath” is rough, offers great production and proves that the band still is to count with.
