Four years after the debut release “Troops”, the one-man army Dunkelwerk returns with an all new conceptual album in “Hoellenbrut”, featuring several compilation club hits like ‘Ungethuem’, Harkers Verderben’ and ‘Mehr Licht!’. Mastermind Losttrooper takes us through dark horror fields haunted by beasts and vampires in the vein of the so called Endzeit Elektro.

“Hoellenbrut” features lyrics in both german and english and is often mixed up together in each song. I think it sounds great. The album has been mastered and mixed by Len Lemeire (Implant, Anne Clark…), he’s done a great job with this album.

“Hoellenbrut” is a very emotional album with powerful electronic and industrial beats and soulful soundscapes merged together with orchestral instruments to become a strong album. The song ‘Your Love’ is my personal favorite, featuring impressive electronic tunes and has a great melody to it. Another great song is the slower track ‘Endzeit (Vanitas), the structure is beautiful and very emotional with great atmospherical synths. But also the songs ‘Fairest Of All’, earlier mentioned ‘Mehr Licht!’ and ‘Croatoan’ is highly recommended.
