8/10

Release date: April 16, 2010

Ego Likeness has been around for quite some time now, however, this album is the first to cross my path. The project was created back in 1999 by Steven Archer and Donna Lynch. With three albums in their back on three different labels the duo returns in 2010 and once again found a new label with their fourth studio album “Breedless” on Metropolis (US) and Dependent (EU).

The album opener “Sirens and Satellites” is a very powerful track with a pounding beat to the electric guitars and the voice of Donna to create that intrigue-isch atmosphere. Although, the album includes alot of this and are fused with a great melodic touch. But emotions is also there, like the track “Now Until Forever”. The track is a pretty mellow track with a melancholic touch blended with heavy riffs and electronic elements. “Song For Samael” is another one, but instead it offers a tone that is very sad and the emotional lyrics is very touching in this beautiful ballad.

“Breedless” contributes with an heavy sound with great harmony in the Alternative Electro/Rock scene. The strong and clear vocals of Donna and the striking sound structure it creates a fresh sound for the listener. You will be showered with catchy melodies to a great energetic sound.
