Evil’s Toy, one of the biggest and most successful bands during the 90′s, started out in 1992 by Volker Lutz and Thorsten Brenda and later also joined by Oliver Taranczewski. The 2000-album “Silvertears” was the final release under the name “Evil’s Toy” as they at a later point renamed their project to T.O.Y. due to a change in style to synthpop and their music wasn’t so “evil” anymore.

“Organics” is a classic release originally released on Hypnobeat in 1995 but now Infacted Recordings, who continues their successful classics series and re-release this amazing maxi CD containing a total of 16 tracks including some rare mixes and live versions.

Even though it’s 15 years since the original release I think that the music is very timeless. It would definately work today without feeling and old or outdated. Classics like “The Old Race” – in form of two different versions, “Organics” and “Third World War” but also great tracks like “Sacred”, “In Silence” or even “Make Up”. Personally I like this setup more over the synthpop style the band achieved with T.O.Y. This a perfect release if you want to relive the darker synth music from the 90′s or just want a lesson from that time. Even though this release covers over 70 minutes in playtime I felt that I ran through every song very quickly. It’s a good thing though but on the other hand a bit negative.

There are several rumours out there that the band will resurrect, so maybe we’ll see a return of this classic band soon with some new material. Only time will tell.
