“Earthling” is the second single release prior to the second studio album “Monumentum”, due to release this summer. “Earthling” is – just as the latest single “Tanz Die Revolution” – only limited to 1000 copies, includes nine tracks and has a playing time of almost 45 minutes. Seven of the tracks is mixes of the title track which includes work from labelmates Aqualite, The Lost Commandment and a version with guest vocals from Liz Van Den Akker.

“Earthling” is a much more melodic and melancholic track than the latest single “Tanz Die Revolution” which was more club-oriented, though I really love all the music Frozen Plasma create. The message that this song gives us is great. It goes hand-in-hand with the song Artificial which was released on the “Irony” single. Do we still know, who we are? Are we aware of our identity and our reality? What if, a person not born on this planet would get the chance to examine us, what would his impressions be about us earthlings? Are we aware of our identity and reality? It doesn’t hurt to take some time to think about that. That is just was this song is about. Just take a look at this lyrical line; I used to travel through space and time, no harm to villains to be feared, until I stepped into your world.

This song is much like Irony, which is one of my personal favorites. The single offers a great variation of styles with the additional remixes and I like the vocals from Liz van den Akker. One part I really love about the b-sides and non-vocal tracks Frozen Plasma creates – like Generation X, Artificial and now with Intro The Sighting – is that they is so beautiful and comfortable.

The music from Frozen Plasma matches my kind of music perfectly. Now just lets see what “Monumentum” has to offer.
