The eagerly and highly anticipated second studio album “Monumentum” from Frozen Plasma is finally here.

After the brilliant EP-release of “Emphasize” in fall 2006 it’s been completely quiet with new releases from Frozen Plasma, until fall 2008 when the single “Tanz Die Revolution”, the first track with german lyrics from FP, was released. It’s a club-oriented and very catchy song with lyrics reflecting on todays over-commercialized society and the way nowadays youth is dealing with it. In spring 2009 we got the second appetizer from “Monumentum”: The single “Earthling”. In difference from Tanz Die Revolution, this single has a more melodic touch with the thoughts of what would happen if someone from another planet got the chance to examine us. What would they think of us? with lyrical lines like “I used to travel through space and time, no harm to villains to be feared, until I stepped into your world.” It’s an interesting thought.

“Monumentum” is 13 songs with over 70 minutes of playtime and one of the highlights in 2009. The music shows a wide range in tempo, from calm and beautiful songs like Almond Flowers and Touching Groud to the more catchy and danceable tracks like The End – Deliverance, Tanz Die Revolution and Murderous Trap. A couple of great instrumental tracks is included like Natural Born Liars and Forgotten Earth together with the opening and the ending tracks. The music from Frozen Plasma is very powerful and together with the outstanding voice of Felix Marc makes a perfect match. This album is all about life, death, war and about our world. Listen to the lyrics, it’s very emotional and affecting.
