Ghost&Writer is the collaboration between Jimmyjoe Snark III, more known as the man behind the classic EBM band The Weathermen and Frank Spinath from Edge Of Dawn and Seabound.

I really think the band name really catch what this duo is all about. Jimmyjoe as the ghost, being away from his project The Weathermen for a long time and then Frank as the Writer for all the lyrics and who really touches you with his vocals. It seems that whatever he puts his voice on, it turns out to be something beautiful.

“Shipwrecks” is the debut album from the duo and it is almost two albums in one as it comes with 8 songs from the band and then another 8 of the same tracks, but in different versions from well known acts around the globe like Iris, Diskonnekted and Edge Of Dawn to name a few. If you’ve heard the latest Edge Of Dawn album, I think you recognize the track “Capsized” as it’s also available on this album.

The music is very romantic and every song tells a different story but they have one thing in common: They all feel very emotional with powerful soundscapes, heavy rhytms and a complex structure mixing earlier sounds with todays modern. With a deep and very amazing atmosphere, this is something completely different from their previous projects. Okey, some similarities can be found with Franks’ other projects but not that it sounds copied. Here you are presented with a way more harmful atmosphere that somehow is bringing warmth to your soul. Jimmyjoe continues his brilliant touch and here is a more updated sound from what The Weathermen brought the scene.

“Shipwrecks” is a beautifully composed album with great production work and is yet another top release that can be put in the duos already impressive portfolios.
