Ladytron is the electropop quartet formed back in 1998 and to date the band have released four studio albums and several singles. The quartet of Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt, Helen Marnie and Reuben Wu are currently available with their new single “Ace Of Hz” as an appetizer for the fifth studio album.

Last time I heard anything from Ladytron was the song “Runaway” and it was actually in a TV commercial for a clothes store. I also remember the “Evil” single released back in 2003, which I thought was very good, and still is by the way. “Ace Of Hz” is a very catchy electropop song with a very bright sound structure together with the very unique and easy-to-recognize vocals from Helen Marnie and Mira Aroyo.

The single is very easy to like and has a very catchy melody through the entire song. The single comes with an additional 5 remixes including 2 very powerful versions from well-known artist Tiësto. But once again this is yet another single with only the title track. It feels very boring this way to listen to the same track and in this case it’s over 30 minutes in playtime. I want a b-side to lift up the single track to a different level and even if these digital singles not usually cost that much it atleast give you some variation.

“Ace Of Hz” is a very strong track and if you really like electropop or just want something good to dance to, this song is for you. Just get the album version if you don’t want the complete single.

Ladytron are also planning on releasing a Best-of album which is scheduled to be released on March 28th featuring 17 tracks released from 2000 to 2010.
