Leaether Strip “Retention No.3″ (CD Alfa Matrix)

Review:

Leaether Strip - Retention No.3

7/10

Artist: Leaether Strip
Title: Retention No.3
Format: CD
Label: Alfa Matrix
Genre: EBM
Release date: March 5, 2010

The constant working man Claus Larsen returns in March this year with the third volume of the “Retention” series. With this series, Claus is re-releasing his complete back-catalogue of Leaether Strip where each release is fully remastered and comes with a second cd with totally rewritten songs by Mr. Larsen himself with todays current technologies.

The original songs shows off a more old school classic EBM sound and shows the early work of Leaether Strip with the “Solitary Confinement” release back in 1992, while the reworked and rewritten songs has the more updated sound with the more modern trademark of Leaether Strip.

This is a great release with old material being reworked and not forgotten that old material easy can be as time flies by. Though, I’m more into the later more modern touch to his music. The updated tracks anno 2010 sounds amazing with it’s facelift of modern technology. It’s heavy and fast with striking beats that offers a great atmosphere.

Fans will definately not get disappointed and if you like old school EBM and want to relive the early 90s this is a safe bet.
