This is the first time I’ve actually putting an effort in listening to Mr Jones Machine. The debut album “New Wave” past by without any notice and I can tell that still on this day, six years after its release I haven’t heard it.
Two years later, in 2007, saw the release of the second album “Återvändsgränd” and the first album with only swedish lyrics. And that is exactly the path the band continues on with the next release. The new album “Monokrom” is soon to be released and the first taster is the 7 inch vinyl single “De Månbleka Tingen”.
It’s actually a duet between Jarmo Ollila and Susie Päiväirinta from the swedish 80′s iconic duo Lili & Susie. The two voices match perfectly together and the music withness some really great soundscapes with influences from the 80′s in the New Romantic/Synthpop genre. The b-side “Electricitet” is a very powerful track with a catchy melody and clever lyrics of one thing that the world is so dependent on in todays society; electricity.
The new album could really be interesting and we will get the answer on that question at the end of the month.
