Necroleptic “A Deep Sleep” (Self-released)

Necroleptic - A Deep Sleep Artist: Necroleptic
Title: A Deep Sleep
Format: Album
Label: Self-released
Genre: Harsh EBM
Release date: September 2011

After the first demo release “Tranquilized” released earlier this year, Necroleptic return with a mini album featuring all the tracks from the demo together with four new tracks.

If the demo tracks were slow, very atmospheric and aggressive music, the four new tracks give you a completely different approach. The sound is still dark, heavy and very melodic-driven but the beat count is increased to deliver some hard pumping Harsh EBM. It is probably only the track “House Of Pain” that continues to deliver some kick-ass atmospheres and constellations in sound. Just the way that was the focus on the demo. I must say I like this style the most.

There isn’t many band out there today in this genre focusing on deep and atmospheric soundscapes. It seems it is all about a fast-paced assault, looking straight forward and not looking back. Almost like a speeding train without control. Of course, it is good with some variation in BPM and not sticking with the same all the time.

Ok, now every person out there haven’t had the opportunity to hear the demo, but this release could more or less be seen as the bands first “real” release. 8 tracks, no remixes, just simple and clean. Brilliant. However, the sound still needs to be polished to find that ‘unique’ feeling and fresh sound. But they sure have something great on their way, and this release is just one step towards that.
