From the US, Necrotek is the electronic project of James Geist, with its home on the US label Vendetta Music. After the release of the debut album “Menchenfeind” in 2009, Necrotek returns with the mini EP “None More Black” featuring 4 tracks.
The music delivers a very rhythmic feeling of old-school EBM and industrial with influences of earlier works from Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy or even Revolting Cocks. The EP can be seperated in two parts, the first two tracks “None More Black” and “Alles Ist Nacht” covering the dark old-school EBM sounds and the other two “Shadow Phase” and “Decline And Fall” with old-school industrial sounds.
I think the vocals is very low compared to the music which makes it sounds very dull and every track is pretty much following a straight line throughout the respective songs with minimalistic ups and downs of variety. It seems that they got stuck in the late 80s and stayed there.
This is nothing that fits my ears but would surely make a way to fans of Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy and likings.
