Omega Lithium is a new approach in the goth-metal scene. Formed in 2007 in a small town in Croatia, the band consists of the female vocalist Mya Mortensen, Malice Rime, Zoltan Harpax and Torsten Nihill. With 11 tracks “Dreams In Formaline” is their debut album originally released on European label Drakkar in fall 2009. Different from that release, this US version includes the bonus track “Ocean Dreams”.
Following in the steps of Evanescence and Within Temptation or even Lacuna Coil, Omega Lithium is definately here to stay. With powerful sounds from the dark gothic and metal scene blended with a hint of hypnotic electronics together with an amazing voice of young singer Mya, they deliver a strong debut album in “Dreams In Formaline”. With prodoction works by Victor Love of Dope Stars Inc. you can hear a small hint from their music with splendid mixing of metal and electronic.
Too bad the album is so short. With only 39 minutes in playtime the journey ended far earlier then I expected. Do not miss this promising band. Recommended tracks not to miss: “Stigmata”, “My Haunted Self” or Hollow March and “Angel’s Holocaust”.
