Australian electropop act Parralox return this winter and available now is the brand new studio album “Metropolis” on conzoom Records.
After the rather decent appetizer to the album in form of the EP “Supermagic” released earlier this fall my expectations wasn’t very high for this album, but the opening track “Ancient Times” bring me on other thoughts. It’s a great electropop composition in form of a duet between the two members John von Ahlen and Amii. The following “I Sing The Body Electric” continues with its amazing atmosphere of modern electropop to their unique sound with influences of the 80′s era.
But those thoughts doesn’t stay very long as the remaining tracks, except “Miss You”, doesn’t get to same point as the first two ones and for me it just feel flat and too much mainstream. Amii has a beautiful and amazing voice but it and two outstanding tracks just can’t keep an album up.
