I don’t think Wumpscut needs any big presentation here. The project from Rudy Ratzinger has been around since 1991 and not one single live show has been performed but instead he releases a new album every year – atleast he has been doing that for a long time now. 2010 is no exception. This April sees the release of the new album “Siamese” which is his 12th regular studio album.

First out is the heavy Industrial piece “Falling From Lucifers Grace” with alot of screaming electric guitars and with a sound most resembles of older Leaether Strip, though at a much heavier and darker stage. But still with the driving sequences from EBM. “Boneshaker Baby” is a much more electronic track with its pounding bassline and distinct beat structure and for sure a track for the clubs. Next up is the title track “Siamese” and it starts with a slow piano arrangement before a beautiful soundscape is presented. The track is a slow one with a great atmosphere even though its sad and yet a bit dramatic. The chorus shows off a heavier approach with screaming vocals from Rudy, followed by the instrumental track “Zirbit” that shoots away powerful rhythms.

“Auf Wiedersehn Im Massengrab” is another slow track with its reduced beat count but unveals a much darker approach compared to “Siamese” with heavy Industrial noises together with dark Ambient elements, while “Teufelszeug” and “Bam Bam” disappoints a bit and sounds exactly like something we’we heard before. Once again we’re struck with heart-pounding beats and heavy rhythms in “Loyal To My Hate” together with its driving electronic sounds. The intro to “Blood Stigmata” is very cool with its medievil instruments before the more heavier type blends in. The atmosphere of this track is amazing and really shows off a new path in the Wumpscut saga. Infectious soundscapes and yet very melodic and with great lyrics and the result would be one of the strongest track on the album. “Killuh” closes the album in a very nice, but yet very unusual way with its great harmonic touch.

Overall “Siamese” is a very good album, it does not disappoint and is way better then his previous two efforts. This is one of his better ones and delivers some very strong tracks like “Boneshaker Baby”, “Siamese”, “Loyal To My Hate” and “Blood Stigmata”.
