2010 marks the return of X-Marks The Pedwalk with their much anticipated new album “Inner Zone Journey”. The album is presented with 11 new tracks including the single “Seventeen”.

Except the single “Seventeen” – released back in early January – this is the first all new music from mastermind Sevren Ni-Arb since the 1996-release “Drawback”. To compare with earlier releases, Sevren has departed from the classic EBM-sound and instead shows off a more modern style with todays electronic sound to deliver an emotional album with very catchy, danceable melodies blended with atmospherical half-ballad songs with hypnotic vocals.

Take the opener “Lifeline”. An amazing slow track with cool lyrics and great melody. “Runaway” is another one, it’s more poppier though, I can’t really put a word on it, but everytime I hear it I get some kind of refreshing thoughts. “Obscure Reason” opens up with the beautiful female voice of Estefania and continues with amazing soundscapes before the beats starts and introduces Sevren’s voice to the song. This is a kind of duet between the two that I think sounds really great. Two great singers that perfectly match together. It’s beautiful and gives a way an emotional feeling. Another melodic track is “Stripped By Tears”, that offers a cool experimental synths in the background with an exceptional great chorus that would make every body want to move their body.

Not to mention “Snapshots In A Dark Room”. If this isn’t emotional I don’t know what is. The intro to this song is one of the most beautiful intros I have ever heard with only a piano and calm and smooth soundscapes. The atmosphere is remarkable through the entire song before it ends once again with only a piano.

“Inner Zone Journey” is very emotional and the album feels like a great experience where every track goes hand in hand. A journey I don’t think you want to miss. This is the most awaited comeback in 2010 and you won’t get disappointed.
